How to host your Lovable app outside Lovable
Lovable is a great place to build. If you want your app on its own link, with the code in your own GitHub and a database you control, you can move it in a few taps. This is the exact path we tested: a recipe site built in Lovable on a phone at 6:50 pm was live at 7:08 pm.
What you need: a Lovable project and a free GitHub account. That's it. No terminal, no config files.
See the result: three-simple-recipes.utplava.dev. Every page works, including direct links like /recipe/1.
Steps
-
Connect Lovable to GitHub
In Lovable, open Settings → GitHub and connect your GitHub account. Approve the Lovable app when GitHub asks.
-
Send your project to a repository
Go back to your project, tap ⋯ next to Publish, choose GitHub and create a repository. Lovable copies your code there and keeps it in sync from then on.
-
Sign in to Utplava
Open utplava.vercel.app and continue with GitHub. Your workspace is ready straight away.
-
Give Utplava access to the new repository
Tap New app, then Manage GitHub access. If access is set to "Only select repositories", add your new Lovable repository and save. GitHub doesn't include brand-new repositories automatically, which is the step most people miss.
-
Analyse and deploy
Tap Choose a repository, pick yours and tap Analyse project. Utplava works out how to build it. When it says Ready to deploy, tap Deploy.
-
Open your link
In one to three minutes your app is live at
your-app-name.utplava.dev, with HTTPS.
Keep building in Lovable
You don't have to change how you work. Keep editing in Lovable: each change is saved to your GitHub repository, and Utplava redeploys automatically whenever the main branch changes. If you'd rather choose when to update, open the app in Utplava and switch off Deploy on push, then use Redeploy when you're ready.
If something doesn't look right
My repository isn't in the list
Utplava can only see repositories you've shared with it. Tap Manage GitHub access and add the repository (step 4).
It says "Ready to deploy" and nothing happens
The analysis is done and Utplava is waiting for you. Tap Deploy below the steps.
My app uses API keys
If your app needs keys or settings stored as environment variables, Utplava lists them after the analysis. Add them on the app's page and deploy again. They are stored encrypted.
